On the other hand, the more people come out to join me for shorter periods of time – say a couple of weeks to a month – the better. It’s easy enough to plan to be at a particular airport to pick them up, and drop them back either there, or another location down the road.

For that to work, I need to have some sort of rough route worked out, so that people can make plans based on that, and of course if people have plans of their own, I can in the same way adjust my plans so we cross paths.

Given the number of people I know seriously planning world travel right now, it’s not that unlikely that I’ll be able to find some travel companions for several months without much effort, and it’ll be interesting to see how many people actually follow through, so while I assume that most people won’t actually come out and meet up with me, at the same time I genuinely mean it when I say that they should.
